What is Fragment and How to Earn On the Platform

Fragment is a platform from Telegram for buying and selling digital goods and collectibles. Here people trade virtual usernames and numbers, as well as digital gifts. The whole system is integrated with the messenger and runs on the TON blockchain.

The Quickex editorial team found out exactly how market participants use Fragment to make money and what opportunities the platform offers.

History of the project

Fragment was launched in October 2022. The developers position the platform as a place where you can legally trade unique identifiers based on TON. At first, these were mainly Telegram usernames, then collectible numbers appeared.

How the platform changed

Since its launch, Fragment has changed significantly:

Period Changes and additions
end of 2022 / beginning of 2023 launch of username auctions; appearance of anonymous +888 numbers, allowing registration in Telegram without a SIM card.
2023–2024 rising prices for rare usernames and numbers; emergence of speculation and fraudulent schemes with fake websites.
end of 2024 introduction of KYC requirements for some operations — now some purchases and sales require identity verification.
2025 launch of collectible gifts (collectible gifts) that can be given, sold, and collected; Telegram interface updated with collection tabs and music in profiles; creation of a gifts marketplace with payment via Telegram Stars (Telegram’s internal currency).

Over three years, Fragment has evolved from a niche auction into a convenient hub for working with Telegram’s digital services.

How Fragment works

Fragment is a free service that connects TON wallets and Telegram accounts. The platform offers a simple interface for trading, but “under the hood” everything happens on the blockchain, so ownership rights are tied to the wallet and do not depend on a server.

First steps

To start working on Fragment, you need to:

  • create a TON wallet, for example Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet;
  • fund it with Toncoin;
  • connect the wallet and your Telegram account to Fragment.

After that, you can participate in auctions, buy ready-made lots, or pay for Telegram services directly from the wallet.

Payment system

As we found out earlier, all transactions are carried out in Toncoin. Fragment charges a 5% commission on sales, and the blockchain adds small network fees. The keys and access to funds are stored by the user, so it is important to carefully keep backup access keys.

Platform features

Fragment combines several areas at once:

  • auctions and trading collectible usernames;
  • buying and selling anonymous +888 numbers for Telegram registration without a SIM card;
  • arranging and gifting Telegram Premium subscriptions;
  • paying for and withdrawing rewards through Telegram Ads;
  • using Telegram Stars to support creators and withdraw rewards;
  • trading collectible gifts and other digital items.

Auctions and sales

Collectible assets are recorded in TON and tied to a wallet address. The seller can put a lot up for auction with a minimum bid and an instant buy option, or sell it directly. After the auction ends, the asset is transferred to the buyer’s address, and the seller receives the proceeds minus commissions.

Overview of the Fragment interface

The main page is designed so that even a newcomer won’t get lost: at the top — navigation through key sections, in the center — a search bar and a selection of top lots. Let’s take a closer look.

Fragment interface

In the top menu you can see the main sections:

  • Usernames — buying and selling usernames;
  • Numbers — collectible +888 numbers that cannot be linked to a regular SIM;
  • Gifts — a showcase of collectible gifts;
  • Stars — managing Stars balance and raffles for subscribers;
  • Premium — buying and gifting Telegram Premium;
  • Ads — paying for ads, sponsorship offers, and withdrawing income for creators.

The central part shows top auctions with minimum bids. It displays the lot price in Toncoin and the auction’s end time. In the upper right corner are the Connect Telegram and Connect TON buttons for quickly linking your account and wallet.

How to earn on Fragment

You can earn on Fragment in different ways. The most obvious paths are to look for usernames and numbers with growth potential and resell them. You can also:

  • create or buy rare gifts and sell them further;
  • monetize your channel through Ads and withdraw rewards in Toncoin;
  • accept Stars from your audience and exchange them for rewards.

A telling case illustrates that this is not just theory. In August 2025, entrepreneur Roxman exchanged a collection of Telegram gifts, purchased for 3,880 Stars (about $57), for a Porsche 911 GT3 RS worth $350,000.

The deal caused a wide resonance and became an argument in favor of the idea that collectible gifts recorded in TON can have real value outside the messenger. This does not guarantee instant profit, but it shows how unpredictable and at the same time interesting the digital assets market can be.

Conclusions

Fragment has already ceased to be just an experiment: the platform has integrated blockchain into familiar Telegram use cases and gave the market a new class of assets.

There are risks — from fraud to price volatility. At the same time, the project’s opportunities are also impressive. Asset holders have received tools for profitable transfer, sale, and even exchange for real things. The story of exchanging gifts for a car became a good reminder: digital value sometimes intersects with material value.
